January 25, 2013
Hi all,Its the forecast time for 2013. I finally got my Year Ahead together 25 days into the year. The cruise into 2013 is going to be a good one with all sorts of promises made by politicians and leaders, BUT its not going to work out that way they believe it will. All standards are up for grabs and unless you want to be truthful, the shit will really begin to hit all the multiple fans - in big business, government finance, science, the arts, education and every other field. Its a revelatory year ahead.best wishes for 2013.
Richard
Moving into 2013 we look back to the birth of the Occupy Wall Street movement in September 2011 which brought a whole new attitude into the streets. Occupy faded somewhat in 2012 but the consciousness effect lives on. The world's financial system still stumbles along to when its darkest just before the dawn and from where we stand now its not over yet. The ordinary person in the street lost their respect for the financial decision makers of the world and often don't know where to go next. The IMF has just announced in January that this year will still be a precarious year for finance.
The whole process began when Pluto, the transformer planet, went into Capricorn - the sign of business, banks, governments and authority in January 2008. It began with the sub prime mortgage scandal and continues. Its been a bit of an up and down ride since then which has not been resolved and basically has been solved (temporarily) by throwing money at the problem, printing more bank notes and bailing out big business. Not a recipe for success.
Major Transits in 2013
The forces that drive the energy on our planet, are setting the scene for a major transformation and 2013 will move it further forward this year. What's happening now though is not unique. Its a part of a long term cycle that runs through world affairs every 110/135 years - two key outer planets, Uranus and Pluto, go through a cycle of connection and disconnection traceable though history. If you look to the pattern of the Uranus/ Pluto conjunctions from earlier times it goes like this: 1455-1456 in Leo, 1597-1598 in Aries, 1710 in Leo, 1850-1851 in Aries, and 1965-1966 in Virgo. After conjuncting they then go through a period of separation, squaring each other off about 43 years later, then oppose each other and finally come together again. We are in the waning square onwards from 2012. They last until 2015/16 after which the energies gradually pull away. There's going to be no quick fix but more an ongoing period of dramatic reform and social consciousness change with scientific breakthroughs that will transform the world.
Jupiter in Gemini and Cancer
Jupiter began the quicksilver journey in the airy sign of Gemini the twins in June 2012 and goes to June 2013. In Gemini there began a broader understanding of the world and history as we delve into what makes the planet tick. Intellectual curiosity, social research and a broadening of friendship links around the world can bring us together as a family. Travelling teachers will go on the move to bring change to the world.
Jupiter into Cancer is a different flow of expansive energy. Here its called exalted in Cancer. This means the areas of family, heredity, and environmental factors influence us all. Business interests will revolve around farming, housing, food production, and things to do with the home. Emotional idealism will be strong and one feature of society will be new moves in the social sphere bringing communities together. Farmer's markets, communal gardens, food sharing systems, and a focus on homes and home support becomes much more important.
Venus Retrograde In Capricorn
Venus turns retrograde every eighteen months and this coming year its in December. Venus turns retrograde on 22nd December at 29 degrees Capricorn and doesn't go direct again until 1st February 2014 at 13 degrees Capricorn.
Expect your attitudes towards love to alter - your attractions, your conscious emotional responses and personal values and partnership considerations will all go through changes as Capricorn is a very practical sign. Your outlook on the current financial situation will go through big shifts. Misinterpretations of people's value systems as well as their attitudes to finances can be confused or mixed-up. A good time to consider financial investments very cautiously - its best also to re-examine your attitude to all asset and investment values.
Neptune in Pisces
Neptune is here until 2025. Neptune has a great association with matters spiritual and sensitive as well as the psychic. Pisces is the home sign of Neptune and this is the first time since its discovery in 1846 that Neptune floats into its own sign. Neptune as a planetary force will ask us all to be much more creative and sensitive to others and the environment around us. Neptune rules over fantasy, hypnosis, meditation, creative art and music, mystical and trance states plus the experience of the cosmos being brought into everyday life. Subtle energy as a healing tool will come into being using new technologies over the next decade.
The breakdown of boundaries between this physical dimension and others is to be realised by the mid 2020s. How will that manifest - ghosts, fairies, wizards and witches, elves, orbs, and other dimensional beings are all likely to be integrated into our existence in the years ahead. Swimming and water sports will become hugely popular as an exercise method. People will use subtle healing forms and new technologies will become Star Trek like in their manner of operation. Art will become more imaginative and abstract and cosmic music will become a formal medical healing technique.
Saturn In Scorpio 2012 to 2015
It began October 2012 as the planet of structure moved into the deep and intense Scorpion of the zodiac. Its likely to bring much sense and responsibility into financial affairs and the reform of corporate systems will be likely. Under Scorpio there is intense commitment to your tasks so expect serious business changes around taxes, insurance, and corporate affairs. Saturn remains there until September 2015.
The economic realities of the era 2012-2015 will be one of strong financial trouble and reform due to the financial corruption over the previous 20 years. Saturn's entry into Scorpio will manifest in the anger of populations over the loss of job opportunities and corruption of natural resources, unleashed during the Uranus-Pluto square years of 2012-15. Saturn is authority and Pluto is power - together they tussle over a revolution on who's in control. We will see massive moves on the part of governments to restrict civil liberties and control their populations. Stepping out of line will be the trigger for governments to step in. In Australia we have the proposed Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Bill 2012. Quote - " These are laws designed to give the government authority over our lives in completely new and unjustifiable arenas. This is an excessive and indefensible increase in state power." Chris Berg, the Institute of Public Affairs, December 2012.
With Saturn in Scorpio, we've entered what we can call Jedi Time, and we've entered the era of the shaman. You will not like everything you see lurking in your shadows. Yet, this is what Saturn is doing, reminding us of our values in relationships, and what it means to balance up in partnership, to support each other as our shadows interact with us. Its about lifting the burdens, unveiling the wounded stories, revealing your souls and diving into the transmutational fires.
Businesses that take old things and turn them into new again will thrive. Businesses and hobbies taking old environments and turning them into new environments. Old items into new items using existing materials offer optimum opportunities for fun, fulfilment and even fiscal remuneration! Recycling industries will move to the foreground. Recycling old items into jewellery is one example, as I saw recently old typewriter keys made into pendants. Reviewing old writings, and ideas and then cleaning them up, giving them a new aspect and making them more contemporary are great for the next few years. Items can be writings, books, databases, furnishings, cars, clothing - all are a good way to work with Saturn in Scorpio. This shift pushes changes and inventions in the medical field and the possibility of living longer and becoming younger as part of the Saturn/Pluto mutual reception.
Saturn and Pluto in Creative Sextile
For a period in 2013 these two mighty planets of structure and transformational change form a very helpful sextile on and off through the year. Starting on 27th December 2012, they form again in March 2013 and finally in September. The degrees they connect at are 9 Scorpio/ Capricorn, 11 degrees and finally 9 degrees at the last pass. Got anything in your chart at these degrees? Ask an astrologer.
There is a larger Saturn/ Pluto cycle lasting 33 years guiding the large scale evolution of global society, politics and finance. We are now experiencing the waning sextile between these two heavy weights. We are entering the final stretch of the current cycle which began with the Saturn Pluto conjunction of 1982, and will close with the next conjunction in 2020. Saturn/ Pluto is the story of the focus onto reform. So we'll have this positive transformation of our structures going on with the much more potent influence of Uranus square Pluto, giving a difficult backdrop of radical upheaval.
The influence of Saturn sextile Pluto from November 2012 to November 2013 is positive and gives us the patience and perseverance to find solutions to the crisis unfolding with Uranus square Pluto. When Saturn of leadership, strength and determination, meets Pluto of power and control, there is a window of opportunity in 2013 to make long lasting changes for all. The kind that work. Change is not easy and often means letting go of things you've been accustomed to having in your life. Sometimes it means having to work against outside conservative forces who would prefer to see all things stay the same never changing. We'll wait to see how it all plays out.
The Great Grand Trine of 2013
In June and July this year we experience the effects of a line-up of three well known planets in the three Water signs. We have Neptune in Pisces, Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn in Scorpio from 26th June 2013. Put the three together and we get a grand trine of pleasant and harmoniously sensitive energies with three very strong and large sized planets. From July 1st to 13th we get Jupiter, Neptune and Saturn forming the trine in Water signs then Mars goes into Cancer on the 13th and there are 4 planets in the Grand Trine until the 26th - then Mars moves far enough to drop out and leaves Jupiter, Neptune and Saturn in orb until early August - around the 10th. Note: there will also be a briefer grand trine with Mercury in Cancer joining Saturn and Neptune from 2nd to 7th June.
This beautiful, sensitive, creative, psychic July Water grand trine will enable us to deeply link our emotions with our intuition and many people will make great strides slipping easily into a way of seeing and intuiting that surpasses all the ideas we have of how our intuitive insight works to date. If you have planets from about 2 degrees to 9 degrees of the three Water signs then you will get it opening your personal planetary chart. Have an astrologer check your chart to see how you fare. The creative potential of this period is magnificent and many amazing works of art, music or literature may be put down or composed at this time. Younger children, who we now call the Crystal children, will most likely greatly advance in their psychic intuitive skills at this time. Note that Mercury is retrograde from June 26th to July 21st in late Cancer doubling the inner personal effect.
Mercury Retrograde in 2013
Each year there are times when its good to cut back on and watch how your communications with others goes. The planet Mercury rules all our communication abilities. Its about thoughts, words and the way we express ourselves. It turns three times a year in retrograde motion, that is, it turns backwards in the heavens as it passes our Earth in orbit. Mercury takes 88 days to go around the Sun and the Earth takes 365 days. Each time it passes us it appears to be backwards in the sky. The retrograde period lasts about 21/ 22 days. During that time its a poor idea to buy or sell, sign contracts and otherwise enter into agreements as the details will often get mixed up or confused.
Normal events during a retrograde Mercury include weird weather, uncovering information relating to the past, old stories coming back into print, and communications stuff-ups. Mercury retrograde can also be used to reorganise your data and files and journey back into the past to reconnect. Old creative material can be unearthed, revived and reworked.
Mercury retrogrades three times this year;
from February 23rd - March 18th in Pisces,
from June 26th - July 21st in Cancer,
and October 21st - November 11th in Scorpio.
The Water signs rule emotions, sensitivity and intuitive abilities as well as psychic awareness, so you need to be more quietly open in those periods and don't buy into any emotional dramas or start new examinations of others' emotions. Just work on your own and do it quietly.
The Bigger Planetary Movements
Pluto and Uranus came together to challenge everything during 2012. This is by far the biggest event of the next three years. They clash another 5 times until 2015 so its a long campaign of changes and upheaval as well as thorough reforms of the social, cultural and financial structures of the world. In the mid 1960s, Pluto/Uranus came together to profoundly shift all the values of that current historical time - the music, the art, films, medicine, natural therapies, rebellion of whole countries and the swinging sixties.
Uranus and Pluto in combination are a volatile mix, and the signs in which this pair are squaring off reinforces the likelihood that conflict becomes extreme. Uranus in Aries is a revolutionary energy, wild and uncontrolled, and rebellious but it also represents the urge to individuate and to be unique. Pluto in Capricorn is about entrenched power, manipulation and control, ruling secrets, sex, death and taboo, but also the urge to self-empower, succeed and regenerate.
At each of the exact Uranus/Pluto squares, additional planets in aspect may give us clues to the particular flavour of the energies released. The May 21st square at 11 Aries/Capricorn shows asteroid Vesta in tight square from 10 Cancer, suggesting that security will be an issue. This may be a highly volatile period for global financial markets, and economies such as Greece, Spain or Portugal that are teetering on the edge may well topple. Vesta also suggests sacrifice of some sort, particularly in the service of the community, as well as a sacred bonding or selfless giving, things not wholly disharmonious with Pluto's drive for evolutionary change and Uranus' urge to break down old forms. The next on November 1st just before the New Moon eclipse in Scorpio has the Moon in Libra opposing Uranus in Aries and Uranus at the head of a dramatic YOD (Finger of Fate) with Mars and the Sun/Mercury at the base. Emotional fireworks are very certain plus some rash or impetuous acts around the world.
In mid February we also have an exciting, inventive aspect unfolding, the sextile connection of Jupiter and Uranus happens for a week or so and makes it possible to have new solutions to difficult problems and well as making international finance do fast ups and downs. Then in August Jupiter and Uranus square each other and cause finances to go anywhere again. Your chance to change your patterns is very strong now. It also may be characterised by innovative and inventive periods or breakthroughs in science.
The Year's Eclipses
There are two Solar Eclipses this year: May 10th at 19 and half degrees Taurus (an annular eclipse) and November 3rd at 11 degrees Scorpio (a total annular eclipse). The May eclipse is visible across the Pacific Ocean and the November one is visible across the Atlantic Ocean and into Africa. Its one of the rare hybrid or annular/ total eclipses in which some sections of the path are annular while other parts are total. A treat of an eclipse if you can see it. Its closest to the African coast at its peak in Liberia. It then goes through Gabon, the Congo, Kenya and finishing in Ethiopia.
Lunar Eclipses: there are three and they occur on April 26th at 6 degrees Scorpio, May 25th at 4 degrees Sagittarius (partial eclipse) and on 19th October at 26 degrees Aries (a penumbral eclipse). We do have three in a row from time to time - this year is one of those. April is visible in Eastern Europe and Africa. The May one is visible in north and south America and the October one is visible in Canada plus Europe and Africa.
Australia's Chart this Year
On Australia Day January 2013, planet Pluto transits across the Australian Capricorn Sun sign (Birth: January 1, 1901; 1.36pm {AEST} Sydney) at 10 degrees of Capricorn, and repeats in July and October. Last time it did this, Pluto to the Australian Sun, it resulted in national leadership changes.
In 1975, as Pluto squared our Capricorn Sun, the then Labour Prime Minister Gough Whitlam, was dismissed from office by the Australian Governor General. Planet Uranus squares our Sun in late April and again in October, along with an opposition from Jupiter in early August. With these transits, and a federal election due before November 2013, a new Prime Minister is very highly likely or a replacement of either party leader. With the reforming combination of Uranus and Pluto to the Australian Sun and Saturn it could bring constitutional change, or possibly effect our relations between Britain and Australia.
What Next, Now that 2103 is Here?
Before you go any further, turn off your TV and stop watching the 6 o'clock news and start listening to your own inner intuition. If you need news, keep it simple from an occasional newspaper. Get to know your local community and those people who live nearby to you. Start a community garden nearby. With smart phones and wireless modems - absolutely minimise their use. Find alternative news information to help you focus on the positive in the world. Celebrate the New and Full Moons and the Equinoxes and Solstices. Have fun, dance, meditate, connect with family, look after people, animals and plants. Find what you can do to see the positive and support all around you to do the same. And best of all, move beyond the doomy-gloomy news.
