January 20-26th, 2013
This week takes us on a voyage into
space and then brings us back to earth. We have five "air" planets
Monday and Tuesday: the Sun, Mercury, and Mars in Aquarius and Jupiter and the
Moon in Gemini. Astrologically "air" is about various types of
relationships: those between words and objects, those between people, and those
which arise when we step back from life to get perspective. Air signs (Gemini ,
Libra, and Aquarius) are essentially intellectual and operate in the spaces
between subject and object, partner and partner, and people and society. Air is
really about space and distance unlike the water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, and
Pisces) which are immersive, intimate, and non-verbal. The symbols of all the
air signs are based on two separated but roughly parallel lines.
We are headed toward a major period of
immersion in Piscean waters next month when the group of planets, now in
Aquarius, moves on into Pisces joining Neptune. This week is the peak of
clarified unemotional - some would say cold-hearted - mental processing. We
need to get our bearings and mark them down before we enter the fog and
subjectivity to come. I don't mean to denigrate the imaginative and mystical
reality of the Pisces experience. It's a world with its own logic and value and
will lead us to understand how we are connected to all humanity in numerous
non-verbal ways. But this week, the "air" energy inclines us to
perceive and evaluate the objective connections we chose to make.
So if you feel your hair on fire Monday
or Tuesday, know that our mental energy (Mercury) has been supercharged by his
fast flowing connections to the major mind-expanders (Uranus and Jupiter) with
the Gemini Moon providing the fuel. We'll welcome the opportunity to coast and
give our minds a rest and the time to reflect when the Moon goes VOID
for most of Wednesday.
Thursday and Friday the Sun follows
Mercury through the same set of connections, but the Cancer Moon making a
T-square with Uranus and then Pluto adds a strong emotional component to
the mix. The Mercury - Saturn square on Friday should be a much needed return
to Earth from outer space. Mercury gets sharp and fact-checked by making square
angles to Saturn. Soaring thoughts get grounded just in time for Saturday's
Full Moon in Leo.
What was so detached and cool at the
beginning of this week has become hot and personal on the Leo Full Moon. We
followed an arc from head to heart this week. Love is what reaches across the
distance and makes connections that matter.

Taurus Moon
More grounding as the Taurus Moon
connects with the personals: Venus nicely and Mars a little edgy. Then the Moon
VOIDs at 10:16am/1:16pm.
Monday January 21, 2013
Taurus -> Gemini Moon
Off we go into the Wild Blue Yonder
with 5 air planets now that Moon's in Gemini after 6:04am/9:04am. Our thinking
caps are humming.
Tuesday January 22, 2013
Gemini Moon
Soaring even higher with Aquarius
Mercury drawing fire from Uranus in Aries. "My mind's got a mind of its
own" - Jimmie Dale Gilmore.
Wednesday January 23, 2013
Gemini -> Cancer Moon
Coasting or drifting in the VOID
from 3:42am/6:42am until tonight at 7:00pm/10:00pm.
Thursday January 24, 2013
Cancer Moon
The Cancer Moon makes emotional waves
while square to Uranus and opposite Pluto. A potentially explosive combo quite
different from the previous days detachment.
Friday January 25, 2013
Cancer Moon
Mental discipline and uncomfortable
facts come when Mercury squares Saturn, made more uncomfortable as the Moon
moves opposite Venus. Some people don't feel "right". Oddly it feels
better later when the Moon goes VOID at 12:35pm/3:35pm and the Sun links
with Jupiter.
Saturday January 26, 2013
Cancer -> Leo Moon
Full Moon in Leo tonight - Answer Bo
Diddley's question: "Who do you love?" Egos swell and stiffen now -
some may burst. Feedback can sting.
Ongoing
Jupiter is in Gemini until next year.
Saturn is in Scorpio going retrograde
early 2013.
Uranus is in Aries going retrograde
next July.
Neptune is in Pisces going retrograde
next spring.
Pluto is in Capricorn going retrograde
next spring.
In the Night Sky
Venus is a bright Morning Star shining
in the east just before sunrise.
Jupiter is the bright heavenly body
overhead after sunset.

belt of 3 stars in a line.
VOID Moon Tables
(As the moon moves through the signs of
the Zodiac, there comes a time when it has made the last connection it can make
while in the present sign. From that time until the Moon enters the next Zodiac
sign it is said to be VOID. It means that things are "in
neutral". It is a time to maintain routines but NOT a time to begin new
projects. Ideas and opportunities which come up during VOID moon periods
rarely amount to much. It's not a good time to schedule an important first
meeting or to make decisions. This VOID time can last from a couple
minutes to almost 48 hours depending on the arrangement of the planets in the
signs.)
